Abdominoplasty (Tummy tuck)

At Carolina Face and Body, we understand that the abdomen is one of the most personal and transformative areas of the body. Whether due to pregnancy, significant weight loss, or aging, excess skin, weakened muscles, and stubborn fat can leave many women feeling disconnected from their bodies. Abdominoplasty, commonly known as a tummy tuck, is a powerful procedure that restores the strength, function, and aesthetic appearance of your midsection. our BOARD-CERTIFIED plastic surgeon offers several variations of tummy tuck surgery, tailoring each approach to your unique anatomy, lifestyle, and goals.

Not all tummy tucks are the same. During your consultation, we will assess your anatomy, skin laxity, muscle tone, and fat distribution to determine the best surgical option for your needs—always with an emphasis on minimizing scars and maximizing results.

full abdominoplasty

Mini abdominoplasty

preverse abdominoplasty

Full Abdominoplasty

This is the most comprehensive option, ideal for patients with significant muscle laxity and excess skin both above and below the belly button. It includes:

  • Repair of separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti)
  • Removal of excess skin and fat
  • Repositioning of the belly button for natural appearance

mini Abdominoplasty

Best for patients with mild skin laxity and fat limited to the lower abdomen, below the belly button. The mini tummy tuck involves:

  • A smaller incision
  • No belly button repositioning
  • Quicker recovery and less scarring

Reverse Abdominoplasty

Ideal for patients with excess skin above the belly button, this less common but highly effective procedure involves:

  • Incisions hidden in the breast fold or lower chest
  • Lifting and tightening of upper abdominal skin
  • Often performed in patients who have previously had a lower abdominal procedure or in combination with breast surgery

Combining Procedures: Mommy Restore

Abdominoplasty is often combined with liposuction to improve overall abdominal contour. Liposuction allows for contouring of the waist, hips and back and can enhance your overall results.

Abdominoplasty is often included in our Mommy Restore procedure—a customized surgical plan that may include a breast lift, augmentation, or liposuction. Whether you’re looking to reverse the changes of pregnancy or simply feel stronger and more sculpted, combining procedures can help maximize your results with a single recovery period

Panniculectomy

Designed for patients with a significant overhanging skin apron (pannus), often after massive weight loss or bariatric surgery. This procedure removes the excess skin and improves hygiene and comfort but does not include muscle tightening or belly button adjustment unless combined with other procedures.

This procedure can be combine with liposuction for improved contour and can be performed in the office with conscious sedation.
